Politics and Prose - The Vancouver Writers Fest

  • Waterfront Theatre 1412 Cartwright Street Vancouver, BC, V6H 3Y5 Canada (map)

Massive economic divides in our world’s wealthiest countries show that the system is broken. It’s evident as one walks along the streets of our most-celebrated cities and along the roads of our smallest towns; the gap between haves and have-nots continues to grow. As noted in John Freeman’s Tales of Two Americas, whether the cause of this inequality is systemic injustice, the entrenchment of racism, the war on drugs or our immigration policies, it endangers not only our ability to thrive, but our very lives. Freeman is joined by Waubgeshig Rice (Moon of the Crusted Snow), Chelene Knight(Dear Current Occupant) and Javier Zamora (Unaccompanied) as they share powerful stories that demonstrate how inequity and social divide have affected the masses and how boundaries are broken when experiences are shared.

Tickets for this event are $20.
